  1. NATURE OF DATA AND PURPOSE OF DATA PROCESSING

Web browsing data:

During the ordinary course of operations, the IT systems and software procedures for running this website acquire some personal data whose transmission is implicit in the communication protocols of the Internet. This information is not collected with the intent of associating it with identified users but, by its nature, it could lead to the identification of users through processing and association with data held by third parties. This category of data includes IP addresses, the addresses in the URI notation of the requested resources, the time of the request, the method used to submit the request to the server, the size of the file obtained in response, the numerical code indicating the status of the response given by the server, and other parameters relating to the operating system and the user’s computing environment. This data is utilised only to obtain anonymous statistical information regarding the use of the site and to verify its correction functionality.

Information provided voluntarily by the user:

The optional, explicit and voluntary sending of electronic mail to the addresses indicated on this website, or the compilation and sending of contact forms, entails the subsequent acquisition of the sender’s address, which is necessary to respond to requests, as well as any other personal data included in the message. The processing is carried out directly by the data controller, or through their internal staff.

Cookies:

Cookies are short fragments of text that allow the web server to store information to be reused during the same visit to the site (session cookies) or later, even days apart (persistent cookies). Cookies are stored, according to user preferences, by the individual browser on the specific device used (computer, tablet, smartphone). Similar technologies, such as transparent GIFs and all forms of local storage introduced with HTML5 can be used to collect information on user behaviour and use of services. During navigation these types of cookies will be installed from the site: session, analytical and third party profiling and in the rest of this document we will refer to cookies and all similar technologies simply using the term “cookie”.

Depending on the characteristics and use of cookies we can distinguish between different categories:

  1. Technical cookies: are used for the sole purpose of “transmitting a communication over an electronic communications network or as strictly necessary for the provider of a service of the company explicitly requested by a subscriber or user to provide a service “. They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the data controller or manager of the website. They can be divided into navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website and functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria in order to improve the service provided to the user. In order to install them, the prior consent of users is not required. However, it is mandatory to provide the information pursuant to art. 13 of the Code, i.e. that the site manager, if he uses only such devices, will be able to provide in the manner deemed to be most suitable.
  2. Profiling cookies: aimed at creating profiles related to the user and are used in order to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user in the context of navigation. Given the considerably invasive nature that such devices can have in terms of user privacy, European and Italian legislation requires the user to be properly informed on the use of cookies and to express their valid consent. Art. 122 of the Privacy Code states that “the storage of information in the terminal equipment of a contractor or a user, or access to information already stored, is only allowed on the condition that the contractor or the user has given his or her consent, after having been informed by the simplified procedures referred to in art. 13, paragraph 3” (art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). This site uses profiling cookies.
  3. Third party cookies: 1. by visiting the website, you may receive cookies from sites operated by other organisations (third parties), such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, LinkedIn scripts or social plugins. These are parts of the visited page generated directly by the aforementioned websites and integrated into the host website. The most common use of social plugins is for the purpose of sharing content on social networks. The presence of these plugins implies the transmission of cookies from and two all of the websites managed by third parties. The management of the information collected by “third parties” is governed by the relative policies to which reference is made. To ensure greater transparency and convenience, the following are the web addresses pertaining to the various policies and the manner in which to manage cookies.

Google Analytics: a web traffic analysis service provided by Google. Again, these are third party cookies collected and managed anonymously to monitor and improve the performance of the guest site (performance cookies). Google Analytics uses cookies to anonymously collect and analyse information about your use of the website, including your IP address. This information is collected and processed for the purpose of compiling reports regarding activities on the websites themselves. Google does not associate the IP address with any other data held by Google or attempt to link an IP address with the identity of a user. Google may also send this information to third parties if required to do so by law, or when information is processed by third parties on Google’s behalf. This website uses Google’s analysis tool to monitor or collect personally identifiable information. The user can selectively disable the action of Google Analytics by following the instructions specified at the following link:

Session cookies remain active only until the browser is closed or if there is a log-out command. Persistent cookies remain active when you close your browser to be available on your next visit. In some cases, a deadline is set, determined by the server at the time of their creation, in others the duration is unlimited until removal by the user.

HOW TO MANAGE AND DISABLE COOKIES

The user can decide whether or not to accept the cookies using the settings in his or her browser. The usability of public content is also possible by completely disabling cookies, while the total or partial disabling of technical cookies may compromise the use of the site features reserved for registered users. Disabling “third party” cookies, however, does not compromise browsing the sites in any way. This setting can be defined specifically for the various websites and web applications. In addition, browsers generally allow you to customise the settings for different types of cookies, define whether or not to accept them and remove them.
